Objects in Ritual

Karley performed Act I, enclosed in a room not of their own design—an allegory for systems women are born into. We built pathways from their body to bags of sex dolls and babies…. of symbolic weight. Bags of expectations, histories, pressures.

Each bag was lifted, caressed, dropped, forgotten, or carried—marking movement as memory.

The bows on the wall returned as an emblem of last year’s concept—quiet, constant witnesses to a ritual that is as much about becoming the spectacle as surviving it.
